| Hello,
Thank you for the honor of being the March Member of the month! I
became a member of GPDC in 1980 but my involvement with Dalmatians
started much earlier than that. I received my first Dal in 1958 when I
was only 8 years old. He was the best friend I had during my childhood
and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Since then I have been owned
by more Dalmatians than I can count. I lost track of how many champions
I have been involved with in one way or another but none of that matters
anyway. What does matter is the place each dog holds in my heart. They
all touched me in one way or another but there have been four that held
a deeper place. They were Bucky, Watson, Chloe and Garrett.
Dalmatians and the friends I have made because of them have been one
of the most important things in my life. I have seen many people come
and go and way too many pass away but one thing has been a constant and
that is how wonderful this breed is and the other thing that has been
constant is the fact that 95 % of the people in my life are there
because of Dalmatians!
When I began showing I was learning from Barb Greenspan. After she
moved to California I found a wonderful new traveling buddy. Nanci Good
and I spent many years traveling to shows together and we had a
wonderful time. As the years passed we both have slowed down
considerable but we still manage to be involved with the dogs. I have
found that I enjoy mentoring people who want to learn and have met some
great friend through mentoring them.
I now am totally committed to helping increase the number of
Dalmatians that will no longer be at risk of forming urate stones
because of the genetic mutation hyperuricosuria!
I am recognized by the AKC as a Breeder of Merit. In addition to GPDC,
I am also proud to be a member of Bushy Run Kennel Club and Dalmatians
of North America. Oh I nearly forgot I am a member of the Dalmatian Club
of America too. My website address is: http://rimrockdals.webs.com/
Yours in Dals,
